چکیده
This paper presents an Antipodal Vivaldi Antenna (AVA) design, focusing on its constructional aspects. The main features analysed are the connector attachment structure and introduction of a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) part that supports antenna laminate. Issues related to dielectric penetration by milling tools also addressed. proposed AVA was manufactured through low-cost prototyping process tested, achieving operational bandwidth from 5 18 GHz for reflection coefficient less than −10 dB average gain 6.23 dBi. prototype meets all design requirements, which shows viability developed radiator.

Design and Optimization of Compact Balanced Antipodal Vivaldi Antenna
In this paper, the conformal finite-difference time-domain (CFDTD) method using PSO optimization is applied to design a compact directive balanced antipodal Vivaldi antenna for ultrawideband (UWB) applications. This paper demonstrates miniaturized antipodal Vivaldi antenna (32 × 35 × 1.6mm3), having low-cross polarization levels and reasonable gain from 3.1 to 10.6 GHz. The antenna peak gain is...
متن کاملWideband Balanced Antipodal Vivaldi Antenna with Enhanced Radiation Parameters
A novel balanced antipodal Vivaldi antenna (BAVA) with high gain and enhanced radiation parameters is proposed in this paper. The outer edges of the flare are modified by a binomial curve to broaden the impedance bandwidth. A modified metal director is adopted to improve the antenna gain and beam-tilting. The measured results show that the proposed BAVA achieves a bandwidth from 2 to more than ...
متن کاملDevelopment of an Electrically Small Vivaldi Antenna: The CReSIS Aerial Vivaldi (CAV-A)
Radar operation from the CReSIS Meridian UAV requires a broadband antenna array composed of lightweight, thin, end-fire antenna elements. Toward this goal four Vivaldi antenna designs were simulated, fabricated, and characterized. The final design, dubbed the CReSIS Aerial Vivaldi – Revision A (CAV-A) provides operation over a band extending from 162 MHz to 1.121 GHz. The CAV-A measures 40 cm l...
متن کاملDesign and Implementation of a Compact Super-Wideband Printed Antipodal Antenna Using Fractal Elements
A compact printed fractal antipodal bow-tie antenna is designed and implemented to simultaneously cover the operations in the C, X, and Ku-bands. It is demonstrated that by addition of small fractal elements at the sides of hexagonal arms of the bow-tie, a wide operating frequency range of 3.3 to 19.1 GHz can be covered while antenna size is only 30×34×1.2 mm3. In order to match the antenna to ...
متن کاملMicrostrip Antenna: Design Aspects
The rapid growth and demand of wireless based applications for commercial and personal communication increases the demand of microstrip antennas with the advantage of being low cost, low profile, small size, capable of being integrated with VLSI design [2], [12]. However microstrip antennas have some inherent limitations i.e. narrow bandwidth, low gain, low efficiency, low power handling, radia...
